Dr. Geist is truly the best. He did my colonoscopy and endoscopy and was super nice when I was nervous about it. When he went over my results, he made sure to tell me that he was gonna make sure that he did everything he could to help me with my diagnosis!

The center was clean, efficient and front desk was courteous & knowledgeable. However, the nursing staff was not particularly kind or reassuring— this may be their job, but for people “going under” this is usually a one-time thing & it’s scary and unknown. A little kindness would go a long way! (Tapping someone over and over and telling them to “snap out of it!” is not the best way to treat anyone.) The doctor made no effort to take any time afterwards to debrief and discuss— a quick sentence as the patient is **still coming out of anaesthesia** is not adequate. Also, follow-ups should be scheduled in a matter of DAYS, not months, with a clear timeline & explanation for when and how the results will be shared, reviewed & discussed. The doctor (Dr Gaines) seemed to be functioning solely as a surgeon conducting an operation, not as a physician treating a whole person. Inaccurate & sloppy advice regarding breastfeeding after anasthesia (propofol, specifically) was also given. No, moms do NOT need to “pump & dump” at all, much less for 24 hrs following IV sedation. Thankfully I had already researched this before I went but if I had not known, this would have caused me tremendous stress. Especially as this extremely disruprive instruction was given me in an offhand way 10 minutes before I went under. If I had not already known this was an incorrect instruction, I would have had no way to feed my baby for 24 hrs— he does not take a bottle, nor did I have milk saved ahead of time. As it was, I nursed within hours of coming out & continued as normal. My son had no effects whatsoever.
